Responsibilities & Expectations
  • The Mechanic repairs various kinds of electromechanical equipment.
  • Read and understand work plans
  • Disassemble electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment, identifying parts, configuration, and condition
  • Digitally record measurements, pictures, and comments
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to : test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, ovens, cranes, forklift trucks, paint booth, and various handheld power and non-power tools
  • Perform vibration analysis of equipment
  • Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, such as bearings, brushes, motor leads, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, etc.
  • Lift, tighten, adjust, and / or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
  • Perform field service repairs when required
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper PPE.
  • Ensure that all completed work meets the company’s quality standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the shop manager.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Electric Motor Service Technician, Journeyperson Millwright or apprentice with at least 2 years experience and enrolled in an apprenticeship program, or 4 years equivalent work experience
  • Overhead crane experience preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
