Job Description Summary

Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest growing rental business in North America, is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, conduct diagnostics, and repair equipment safely and efficiently to avoid downtime. The fleet includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and specialty lines such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of makes, models, and equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues and execute repairs using the most effective and safest methods.
• Maintain safety standards and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Provide necessary mechanic tools to perform repairs.
• Work collaboratively within a high‑performing, safety‑focused team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with diesel equipment, heavy machinery, or specialty line equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English required; bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a shop mechanic, technician, service foreman, service manager, or related roles.
• Certifications such as ASE, IFPS, or other relevant credentials.
