Job summary

Farm Boy is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team in Ontario. You will cut meats for the service counter, ensure attractive displays, and help maintain high product standards while delivering warm customer service.

You will train and mentor team members, support opening/closing duties, and assist with inventory and ordering. A passion for quality and a collaborative approach are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 - 3 years of related experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and cleanliness standards.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cut meats for the service case, ensuring attractive displays and high product standards.
• Package, stock, and rotate display counters and shelves.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas.
• Follow HACCP and health & safety procedures.
• Assist leadership with inventory counts and supply ordering.
• Provide support to Team Members and mentor those in the Meat Cutter development program.

• Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products.
• Prepare and cut meats for our service case, ensuring attractive displays and consistently high product standards.
• Package, stock, and rotate display counters and shelves so all products are finessed, fresh, and of exceptional quality.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
• Train and mentor Team Members enrolled in the Meat Cutter development program, supporting skill development and operational excellence.
• Complete designated opening and closing procedures and provide support to fellow Team Members as needed.
• Assist the leadership team with operational duties, including inventory counts and supply ordering.
• Take on additional responsibilities on a periodic basis to support overall department operations.

• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent use of protective equipment or clothing, and work that is frequently performed in colder environments.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
