Job summary

Walmart Canada in Ottawa is seeking a Meat Associate to keep the meat department clean, organized, and inviting while delivering outstanding customer service. You will help stock, label, and rotate products to ensure a fresh, safe, and appealing display.

You'll also prepare deli items, follow food safety protocols, and assist customers with orders. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Department Organization and Standards: Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer-ready at all times.
  • Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing: Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced, follows procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.
  • Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices: Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration date compliance.
  • Prepare and Serve Deli Products: Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken; uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special orders.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
  • Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule): Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
