Walmart Canada is seeking a Meat Associate in Bathurst, NB to deliver customer service, maintain clean and organized meat department, and assist with deli items.

You will follow pricing procedures, ensure food safety standards, and support daily sales activities while working in a fast-paced retail setting.

• Maintain department organization and standards by keeping area clean, organized, and properly zoned for customer readiness; rotate stock and remove expired or unsellable products.
• Ensure accurate pricing and signing by ensuring all merchandise is signed and priced and following procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, signing, labeling.
• Follow food safety and cold chain practices, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper handling, product rotation, sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli products by taking orders and preparing meat, cheese, and fried chicken; safely use slicers, rotisseries, fryers and other tools to fill display cases and complete orders.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
• Be flexible with shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays) as business needs require.

Position Summary

What You’ll Do

Maintain Department Organization and Standards

Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer‑ready at all times. Rotates stock regularly and removes expired or unsellable products.

Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing

Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.

Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices

Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration date compliance.

Prepare and Serve Deli Products

Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken. Uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special customer orders.

Health and Safety Compliance

Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
