Job summary

A regional education authority in Nova Scotia seeks a Bus Driver to support transportation operations in the Kings area. (5.5 hours per day)

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications and Abilities:
  • Applicants must be a minimum age of 19 years of age, have a current Nova Scotia Operator’s License Class 2B with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driving record and up-to date medical and vision tests.
  • Applicants should possess good communication skills and demonstrate reliability and high moral conduct.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports operations in the Kings area.
  • Operating seventy‑two passenger school buses with air brakes on assigned routes and extracurricular trips.
  • Responsibility for safety and discipline of passengers.
  • Daily routine maintenance including cleaning, washing and pre‑trip inspections of the vehicle.

Training in basic First Aid/CPR and experience operating a school bus on all kinds of roads and during all weather conditions is required.
