Max Wyman Assistant Professor in Mathematics. The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a Max Wyman Assistant Professorship in any area of pure and applied mathematics. The position is a 3-year fixed-term appointment, with a start date of July 1, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be able to apply for grant funding, establish a research program in an excellent research environment, and develop a teaching portfolio with a teaching load of 2 courses per year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a PhD in pure or applied mathematics (or equivalent), demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research in any area of pure or applied mathematics, as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Research that enhances existing research groups in the Department will be considered an asset.
