Varsity Tutors offers an online 1-on-1 tutoring platform for Math 3, with flexible hours and the ability to set your own schedule. Tutors work remotely, delivering high-quality instruction to students nationwide using our Live Learning Platform.

Qualifications

• Advanced Subject Mastery: deep knowledge of polynomial and rational functions, logarithmic and exponential modeling, trigonometric functions and identities, statistics including normal distributions and inference, and geometric modeling with volume and cross-sections.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: ability to break down polynomial division, logarithmic equation solving, and trig identity verification, and modeling periodic phenomena.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: familiar with Integrated Math 3 curricula and Common Core standards, and adapting instruction with graphing tech for AP/college math.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring.

What We Look For In a Math 3 Tutor

Guides students through modeling periodic phenomena, analyzing rational function behavior, performing statistical inference with confidence intervals, and solving geometric design problems. Emphasizes mathematical modeling and connects advanced functions to biology, physics, and financial analysis applications.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Integrated Math 3 curricula and Common Core standards, and common challenges such as graphing rational functions, understanding logarithmic scales, and applying the normal distribution. Adapts instruction using graphing technology, data analysis projects, and cumulative review strategies to support students preparing for AP Mathematics, SAT, or college-level coursework.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
