Job summary

A recruitment consultancy is looking for a Buyer for a major player in the building materials sector in Calgary. The role involves managing purchasing activities, supporting multiple sites, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Ideal candidates will have at least a year of experience in purchasing or logistics and are required to obtain work permits in Canada.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain.
• Experience in construction, mining, or heavy industrial is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel locally (5–10%) to visit sites.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess purchase requisitions for accuracy.
• Create purchase orders for materials and services.
• Obtain quotes and bids from suppliers.
• Support sourcing activities to secure competitive pricing.
• Manage parked PO invoices and payment terms.
• Coordinate vendor setup and changes.
