In this role, you’ll support materials testing and quality assurance activities — including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt — in the field and/or laboratory across a variety of industrial and civil projects throughout Canada.

If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on experience in the field, we’d love to hear from you! At Inline Group Inc., we believe our people are what make the Inline difference.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Field & Laboratory Testing – Conduct quality control and assurance testing on construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Sampling & Inspection – Prepare and collect representative samples for laboratory analysis and monitor material placement and workmanship on construction projects.
  • Quality Monitoring – Identify and report any non-conformance issues or deviations to management promptly.
  • Safety Leadership – Participate actively in Inline’s corporate and client HSE programs, promoting safe work practices and leading by example in the field and lab.
  • Equipment Maintenance – Maintain, clean, and calibrate materials testing equipment and ensure vehicles are kept in good working order.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with supervisors, clients, and team members to support project delivery and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Accurately record field data, testing results, and observations in compliance with quality control standards and Inline’s ISO 9001 Quality Program.
  • Continuous Learning – Take initiative to develop your technical skills and understanding of materials testing processes through on-the-job training and mentorship.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education – Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Civil Engineering Technology or related program.
  • Safety Certifications – CSTS 2020, CSO, and WHMIS 2015 certifications (Inline will assist in obtaining if required).
  • Technical Skills – Basic understanding of construction materials testing procedures, equipment handling, and data recording.
  • Communication & Teamwork – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Attention to Detail – Organized and accurate in documenting test results and maintaining quality records.
  • Physical Readiness – Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Driver’s License – Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.
  • Willingness to Travel – Availability to travel to project sites across Canada for either local or FIFO assignments.
Work Options
  • Local Opportunities – Work on projects near major hubs and get to be home every night.
  • Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) Opportunities – Participate in remote project rotations across Canada, with flights, accommodations, and meals provided at no cost. Typical rotations include 14 days on / 14 days off or 14 days on / 7 days off, depending on the project.
