Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Creating forecasts for materials requirements and estimating demand fluctuations.
  • Communicating with suppliers regarding order status and delivery changes.
  • Coordinating with engineering and purchasing departments for material availability.
  • Developing material specifications based on client needs.
  • Reviewing inventory levels and ordering additional materials as necessary.
  • Ensuring timely delivery and quality of materials.
  • Validating inventory transfers in SAP for accuracy.
  • Reviewing production schedules to determine raw material needs.
  • Performing SAP system reviews to identify material shortages.
  • Assuring operations have necessary materials for production levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating forecasts for materials requirements, including estimating fluctuations in demand
  • Communicating with suppliers regarding order status and changes in delivery dates or quantities
  • Coordinating with other departments such as engineering and purchasing to ensure that materials are available when needed
  • Developing material specifications based on client needs and ensuring that materials meet those specifications
  • Reviewing inventory levels of materials and ordering additional quantities when necessary
  • Making sure that materials are delivered on time and are of high quality
  • Validate inter-warehouse transfers are properly booked in SAP to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Review both Plant production schedules and SAP materials requirement planning system to determine raw material needs over a six to eight week time horizon
  • Perform daily SAP system reviews and metric analysis to identify potential and actual material shortages, review order progress, material rejection, scrap, and rework
  • Assure that the Operations have the necessary materials, to meet required manufacturing / production levels
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Knowledge of various ERP/MRP systems required
  • Basic knowledge of the fundamental structure and workings of an MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Suppliers, Freight and Rail carriers, and Purchasing personnel, strong understanding of Purchasing concepts and corporate directed goals
ANNUAL SALARY
  • $55,000- $65,000
