Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Calgary is seeking a Service Technician - Material Handling to diagnose, maintain and repair equipment for customers and dealers. You will work within budgets, uphold high quality, and ensure timely service delivery.

You will perform diagnostics on power equipment, repair mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, conduct inspections, and handle preventive maintenance. Mentoring apprentices is included.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration.
• Diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical repair needs.
• Strong time management skills to perform under pressure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to high quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate within budgets and approvals established by the Service Manager.
• Maintain productivity, efficiency and gross margin to branch goals.
• Achieve and uphold a quality of work metric of 98% to minimize rework.
• Perform diagnostics on power equipment to identify repair needs.
• Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks (fluid changes, battery testing, lubrication).
• Execute advanced mechanical repairs including engine/transmission diagnosis or replacement.
• Mentor and oversee apprentices to support their professional growth.
