Job summary

Ryder System Inc. is hiring a Material Handler I for its Fort Hills site in Alberta, Canada. The role involves warehouse duties including loading, picking, packing, shipping, and forklift operation under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor. Training will occur in Edmonton for 2–5 days before assignment.

The position offers full-time, permanent work with a 6:00pm–6:00am shift, weekly pay, and benefits after 30 days. A valid forklift license/certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires H.S. diploma/GED or higher.
• Warehouse/forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work 6:00pm–6:00am shift on a 7 days on/7 days off rotation.

Summary

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Start Pay:

$31.44 per hour

Shift Hours:

6:00pm to 6:00am, 7 days on, 12 hours per day, then 7 days off

Paid Training:

2 - 5 days in Edmonton before your assignment .

Job Type:

full-time, permanent

Location:

Fort Hills (2- 5 days training before the assignment. After the training period, you will work at Fort Hills for 7 days on 7 days off rotation shift. You will take the flight from the Edmonton airport to the site, and work for 7 days, then fly back to Edmonton for 7 days of rest.)

Essential Functions

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting




• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract




• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks




• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)




• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

Additional Responsibilities

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.




• Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.




• Performs other duties as assigned.
