Job summary

Svante is a rapid-growing clean energy technology company focused on carbon capture. The Material Characterization Co-op will support Svante’s Structured Sorbent Industrialization team in characterization and evaluation of materials for carbon capture, following study plans, operating lab instruments, and analyzing data.

You will contribute to method development, uncertainty analysis, and prepare technical documentation while maintaining a safe, organized lab.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Interest in materials characterization and carbon capture technologies.
• Willingness to work with characterization techniques such as TGA, DSC, XRD, FTIR and gas sorption.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to safety and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support material characterization activities by following study plans and using lab instruments.
• Analyze experimental data to evaluate material properties and sorbent performance.
• Contribute to method development and experimental uncertainty analysis.
• Prepare technical documentation including reports and SOPs, and maintain a safe lab environment.
• Collaborate with the Structured Sorbent Industrialization team on R&D initiatives.
