The Opportunity
Canopy Growth is looking for a Master Planner, Global Supply Chain to join its team on a permanent full-time position basis.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Planning, the mandate of the Master Planner is to facilitate in the management, implementation, and continual improvement of the planning processes and enabling tools, and to ensure that functional leaders, managers, and team members are aligned on supply plan execution.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly specialized subject matter expertise and leadership (by initiative) in one of the following Master Planning areas: Whole Cannabis Flower, Pre‑Rolled Cannabis, Ingested Cannabis Extracts, Inhaled Cannabis Extracts, and/or Topical Cannabis Extracts.
- Develop and maintain detailed production plans and material requirement plans for production processes of core stock keeping units and new product innovation.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Warehousing, Quality, and Product team members to achieve optimum utilization.
- Provide direction and leadership with capacity planning and constraint‑based planning.
- Develop and document best practices, translating that data into parameters within the advanced planning software.
- Categorize, summarize and report all associated opportunities and risks within respective portfolios to drive key decisions within sales and operations planning cycles.
- Maintain analytic parameters and planning parameters within the advanced planning software.
- Provide clear and specialized scenario planning outputs to direct the business towards key financial targets relating to price, utilization, standard cost, cost of goods sold, variable margin, net revenue, and inventory valuation targets.
- Maintain total portfolio optimization by coordinating the disposition of all finished goods and intermediates along the value chain, with clear impacts on the financial KPIs of the firm.
- Assist in developing strategies for total‑lifecycle management of stock keeping units.
- Assist in creating, defining, and maintaining functional requirements within the advanced planning software.
- Some travel to head office or on‑site meetings may be required on an ad hoc basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Background
- Post‑secondary education in supply chain management or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in IBP and/or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
- Knowledge in business, strong technical skills, expertise in supply chain management, and experience in supply chain planning.
- Experience working and collaborating with demand and supply‑side professionals as well as individuals from supporting functional areas.
- Financial aptitude and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skills required to effectively manage complex and rapidly evolving situations.
- Communication skills that enable change, problem resolution, mediation, and the ability to successfully work in a team environment.
- Knowledge and experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with advanced planning systems (Kinaxis RapidResponse preferred).
Certifications
Commit to acquiring or already hold one or both of the APICS Certifications below:
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
