Job summary

High Liner Foods seeks a Master Data Management Specialist to oversee daily operations of master data management, ensuring data quality, integrity, and adherence to SLAs. You will manage user access, master data for customers and vendors, and collaborate with IT to optimize ERP-driven processes.

Ideally, you bring 3–5 years in data management, familiarity with ERP systems, and a strong eye for detail. This role supports treasury data workflows and fits within our seafood industry operations in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma or equivalent experience in Data Management or related area.
  • 3-5 years’ prior experience in a data management environment.
  • Working knowledge of Data Systems and industry best practices as it relates to Item Master Data.
  • Prior experience in Food or CPG industry is an asset.
  • Proficiency in maximizing and utilizing ERP systems, preferably as a “Power User” of major ERPs.
  • Ability to partner with IT to troubleshoot ERP system issues, request enhancements, and improve reporting or system functionality.
  • Familiarity with inventory controls and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to use metrics to drive results.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain user and system setup for all Treasury related information systems, including access and GL mapping.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with subject matter experts and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate master data setup for address book, customer, and vendor master; design and implement policies.
  • Represent Treasury on initiatives and projects affecting information systems.
  • Provide project management or act as SME for master data related projects.
  • Ensure master reference data integrity and data quality processes.
  • Identify data quality improvements and resolve challenges through error detection and process design.
  • Conduct data cleaning to remove old or duplicate data for better management.

Job description

Job Overview:

The Master Data Management Specialist role is responsible for taking care of daily operational aspects of Master Data Management. This includes execution of daily tasks per best practices of data management procedures, data standardization, preparation, quality, data integrity, as well as timely execution to an approved service level agreement per stakeholder’s expectations.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain user and system setup for all Treasury related information systems, such as maintenance of user groups, system access, authorization setup, and GL schematic mapping for Tungsten and Smartdata
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with subject matter experts within the Support Desk and vendor base
  • Maintain accurate and consistent master data setup of address book, customer master, and vendor master including design and implementation of master data management policies and the related maintenance
  • Represent Treasury on organizational initiatives and projects that impact the information systems used within the department
  • Provide project management and/or act as subject matter expert for projects that impact address book, customer master, vendor master and who’s who
  • Ensure master reference data integrity as well as maintaining the processes to support data quality
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality challenges through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
  • Ensure quality of master data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of audits/processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
  • Assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements
  • Conducts data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access
