Job description

Applications are invited for the position of Massage Therapy Program Manager in the School of Allied Health, Health Sciences Division, located at the Welland Campus. The hourly rate is $42.61-53.26 (Payband 9). Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Allied Health, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective development and delivery of Niagara College’s Massage Therapy Program. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and program staff to continually review and improve the content and delivery of all aspects of the curriculum, anticipating educational trends and curricular issues, and maintaining teaching and learning plans, evaluations, content, manuals, and accreditation requirements. This position is responsible for supporting overall student success initiatives including college recruitment, orientation, retention, and clinical placements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plans and executes a series of projects, participation levels and provides progress reports as a representative of the program
  • Student retention tracking and feedback review from stakeholders, faculty and students
  • Coordinate team efforts to ensure the effective development & delivery of the Massage Therapy Program
  • Lead and participate in various program meetings
  • Oversee clinical experiences
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and program staff to continually review and improve the content and delivery of all aspects of the curriculum
  • Anticipate educational trends and curricular issues
  • Oversee clinic/outreach operations
  • Lead Accreditation, implementation and audits programs on going progress
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in massage therapy
  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field
  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO)
  • Minimum 5 years practice experience as a Registered Massage Therapist in clinical settings
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster/support the same with students and colleagues
  • Experience in a clinical teaching and learning environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
