Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking a Financial Planner in Mission, BC to develop and deepen client relationships by delivering high-quality investment and financial planning advice. The role emphasizes leveraging external networks, meeting clients outside the office as needed, and growing a proprietary investment business within a defined market.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
• MFDA licensing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course) is current and in good standing.
• PFP designation and/or CFP designation.
• Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building Centres of Influence (COIs).
• Goal oriented and entrepreneurial; able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of market trends, regulatory environment and competitive offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow proprietary investment business in the assigned market area.
• Provide client-centric investment solutions using a financial planning framework.
• Conduct outbound communications and proactive calling to prospects to stay top‑of‑mind for future opportunities.
• Build and maintain Centres of Influence (COIs) and strong networks with local professionals.
• Meet regulatory and compliance requirements while expanding client relationships.
