Snowmaking Pump House Foreman

Location: 1 Marmot Rd, Jasper, AB

Job Type: Seasonal, Full‑time (4 days per week)

Reports To: Grooming/Snowmaking Supervisor

Position Overview

The Snowmaking Pump House Foreman is part of the Grooming/Snowmaking team and is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the overall snow‑making system. Duties include training and supervising staff, maintaining snow guns and related equipment, and assisting in other mountain departments as needed. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications
  • Intermediate level skier or snowboarder (or better)
  • Experience in the ski industry and mechanical background
  • Previous snowmaking experience and knowledge of pump‑house start‑up and shutdown procedures
  • Experience with pump, motor, and snow‑gun maintenance (greasing, oil changes, nozzle replacement)
  • Ability to train new snow‑makers and snowmobile operators
  • Knowledge of pumps, plumbing, compressors, and snowmaking terrain coverage requirements
  • Understanding of Parks Canada best management practices for snowmaking
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve snowmaking issues independently
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a current First Aid Certificate (Alberta or equivalent)
  • Physically fit with ability to work flexible, non‑standard shifts

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Oversee snowmaking crew and operations
  • Supervise trail‑crew activities between snowmaking shifts
  • Conduct daily checks and maintain proper working order of snow guns
  • Assist the Grooming/Snowmaking Supervisor with maintenance tasks related to snowmaking
  • Train new snowmaking staff
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as defined in the Grooming/Snowmaking Training Manual, Corporate Policies, Employee Handbook, and Privacy and Harassment Policies
  • Work safely and alert others to potential hazards
  • Assist in all emergency situations and support other departments as required
  • Perform supplementary duties assigned by management
