A ski resort in Canada is seeking part-time and full-time seasonal Snow School Instructors to teach skiing and snowboarding to students of all ages. Applicants must have valid Canadian citizenship or work permit, and a minimum CSIA Level 1 certification. Marmot Basin, located at 1 Marmot Rd, Jasper, AB, is seeking part-time and full-time seasonal Snow School Instructors.
Job details: Applicants must have Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit for the duration of the season (November through April). Reports to: Snow School Assistant Director and Director of Skiing.
Position Overview: Teaching ski or snowboard lessons to students of all ages, providing guided services, safety orientations, and assisting with other duties as assigned.
L1 Instructor: Teach all age groups, provide safety orientations, and educate students on the Alpine Responsibility Code. L2 Instructor: Fulfill L1 roles and safely progress students to black groomed terrain and off-piste skiing/snowboarding.
Candidates should expect to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible daily schedule. Additional duties may include Meet & Greet, Transportation, Special Events, Marketing, and Sanitization.
Full-time Level 1 and 2 instructors may participate in the job share program, selecting and being trained in one of the following departments: Lift Operations, Rentals, Nursery, or Food & Beverage Department.
Arrival at Marmot Basin, followed by morning meetings, line-ups, and lesson assignments. Instructors must check in 5 minutes prior to each line-up and be ready to teach any lesson assigned.
Lesson types include Mite Private, Tiny Tracks, Kids Camps, Discover and Next Step Ski/Snowboard Packages, Private Lessons, and Domestic School/Youth Groups.
Advocate safety, punctuality, and professionalism. Acquire knowledge of the mountain, demonstrate understanding of high-performance skis and snowboards, and relay customer comments to supervisors.
Qualifications: Minimum CSIA or CASI Level 1 certification or international equivalent, physically fit, and able to assist clients. Willingness to help with additional duties and ability to work well under pressure.
Friendly and professional manner, exceptional customer service skills, cheerful and outgoing personality, self-motivated, and able to work alone. Strong team member, passionate about skiing and/or snowboarding, and motivated to develop skills.
