Job description
Overview

Marmot Basin, Jasper, AB — Seasonal, Full-time. Parking Attendants are part of the Transportation team. They are responsible for ensuring vehicles in all areas are parked as efficiently as possible, maintaining a smooth and orderly flow of traffic coming to and leaving from the ski area, and maintaining all parking risk management signage. They are responsible for general cleanliness and safety of outdoor public areas around the lower chalet and in parking lots, and for daily collection and disposal of garbage and recycling in the lower chalet area and in parking lots. The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions. This is a full-time seasonal role, 5 days out of 7 per week from November through to May each operating season. Please note that you may not receive full-time hours at the beginning/end of the season and during other slow periods. Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Reports To: Transportation Supervisor/Assistant Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles in all areas are parked as efficiently as possible.
  • Maintain a smooth and orderly flow of traffic coming up to and leaving the ski area.
  • Ensure parking and roadway signs are current and located as required.
  • Assist with and document any snow removal for the upper and lower chalet public areas.
  • Handle daily garbage collection and disposal; ensure Lower Chalet plaza area is clean, remove snow and garbage, sweep and sand/salt as required.
  • Ensure only vehicles with parking passes are parked in the VIP area.
  • Record daily vehicle count.
  • Responsible for the daily town run.
  • Report all damage or problems with company vehicles to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Work in a safe, efficient manner; maintain courteous cooperation with other staff and assist other departments as required.
  • Assist in emergency situations. Adhere to company policies and procedures as set in the Corporate Policies, Employee Handbook and Transportation Training Manual; follow Ski Marmot Basin Harassment and Privacy policies. Conduct all activities in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to the role.
