Job description
Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Data Analyst to join our growing marketing team. This individual will play a critical role in how we manage, analyze, and apply customer data to shape strategy and drive results. The Marketing Data Analyst will be responsible for managing our contact databases, building segmentation frameworks, developing reports and dashboards, and ensuring that our marketing decisions are data-driven and aligned with business goals.

In this role, you will be the point person for all marketing-related data requests and insights. You’ll work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership teams to turn raw data into actionable intelligence—helping us understand customer behaviour, measure campaign effectiveness, and continuously optimize our strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, and improve marketing contact lists and CRM data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability.
  • Design and execute data segmentation strategies to support personalized, targeted marketing campaigns across channels.
  • Build, automate, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor key marketing KPIs such as campaign performance, lead generation, customer engagement, and ROI.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to marketing leadership with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze campaign performance across email, paid media, website, and social channels to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, operations) to ensure consistent and effective use of customer and campaign data.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert and point of contact for all customer and marketing data-related inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, reporting processes, and overall data strategy to improve efficiency and insight quality.
  • Stay current with best practices in marketing analytics, campaign measurement, and CRM data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing data analysis, reporting, or analytics.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or HubSpot dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling).
  • Basic proficiency with SQL or other query languages (must be able to write and understand simple queries to extract and analyze data).
  • Demonstrated experience in segmentation, campaign performance measurement, and customer data management.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with advanced statistical or analytical methods (e.g., regression, clustering, predictive modeling).
  • Familiarity with A/B testing platforms and methodologies.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or CASL.
  • Experience with API integrations and connecting disparate data sources.
