Our main marketing activities include the flyer program, eblast program, Ren’s Rewards loyalty group, partners & charities, plus significant online, social, & digital advertising to support a thriving ecommerce business.

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator. The position is hybrid, with our Home Office in Guelph, Ontario; but travel is required to the store trade markets for events and outreach.

  • Experienced in print & digital design.
  • Willingness to travel to some Grand Openings/marketing events/home office
  • Must like pets (you’ll be working closely with them, along with pet parents!)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns, develop creative briefs, manage delivery and production of promotional assets
  • Source new vendors for promotional materials & ongoing work with outside vendors
  • Review and analyze all current communications processes and material for continuous improvement and innovation opportunities
  • Create promotional marketing materials for print collateral, social assets, store signage and digital/web
  • Archive and maintain digital/print files and all associated assets for easy access
  • Coordinate/communicate to retail stores various marketing campaigns
  • Copy editing/proofing and help with quality control of all print and web content
  • Update marketing calendars/schedules
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new ideas
  • Keep current as to the latest technology, trends or marketing programs in the online world
  • Coordinate monthly digital advertising campaigns and budget spend and track results to determine ROI
Education, Qualifications & Skills
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience working as a Marketing Coordinator is essential, retail environment preferably
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • Highly collaborative and organized
  • Strong communication, copy writing, editing and content management skills
  • Expert understanding in the range of design formats for print vs digital
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
  • Understanding of design architecture, colour theory and typography
  • Knowledge and some experience with ClickUp is an asset
  • Understanding of marketing fundamentals and its application to multi-channel marketing for retail environments
  • Experience with coordinating trade shows, expos and in-store events
Working for Ren’s Pets:
  • LOCATION: This position is based in the Ren’s Pets home office located in Puslinch, Ontario, with a requirement to work in the office 2-3 days per week and flexibility to work from home. Occasional travel to store locations, Distribution Centres or other offices may be required.
