Marketing & Content Coordinator

Dana Point, CA | Full-Time | On-Site | $28/hour

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Events

About the Role

The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Content Coordinator to help tell the story of our coastal business community. You’ll plan and produce engaging content, elevate our brand through storytelling and design, and connect residents and visitors with the small businesses that make Dana Point thrive.

This is a full-time, in-person role — ideal for someone who loves community engagement, content creation, and bringing ideas to life.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop written and visual content for social media, e-newsletters, press releases, and the Chamber website.
  • Coordinate and capture social media spotlights highlighting local businesses and community happenings.
  • Manage branding, collateral, and design for Chamber events and programs.
  • Publish a bi-weekly newsletter to 7,000+ subscribers featuring business news and local updates.
  • Schedule posts across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn using Meta Business Suite.
  • Capture and edit photos and short-form videos at Chamber events.
  • Support website updates, blogs, and marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with Chamber mixers, luncheons, and signature events such as the Festival of Whales, Classic Car Show, and Dana Point Turkey Trot.
What We’re Looking For
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, Meta Business Suite (Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
  • Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Passion for small business, local events, and community building.
  • A personality that blends professionalism, approachability, and creativity.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Maintaining a consistent, positive online presence for the Chamber.
  • Strengthening engagement between Chamber members and the community.
  • Producing high-quality, on-brand marketing materials that elevate Chamber programs and events.
  • Taking initiative to identify new content opportunities and creative strategies.
Details

This is a full-time, in-person position (Monday – Friday, up to 40 hours/week). Occasional early-morning, evening, or weekend events may be required.

Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
