Summary
Review referrals and accompanying needs and assets assessment (NAARs or NAARs4GARS) and undertakes initial assessment to determine the client’s eligibility for Moving Ahead Program. Make recommendations for intake into program, ensuring individuals not accepted are reconnected with settlement programs. Conducts exit assessments.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Review referrals and accompanying needs and assets assessment (NAARs or NAARs4GARS), following up with referring agency / individual as required.
- Undertake initial eligibility assessment to determine the client’s eligibility for Moving Ahead Program, using the Common Eligibility Criteria found in the Case Management Framework.
- Liaise with MAP Case Management Supervisor to share specialized needs and make recommendations for intake into program, including whether client is assessed as low or high needs for case management.
- Ensuring clients who are not successfully accepted for Moving Ahead Program are (re)connected with settlement programs.
- Conduct exit assessments to confirm when eligible clients should be transitioned off Case Management support. Liaise with Case Management Supervisor to facilitate client further referral.
- Enter client information and service interventions into centralized databases as client service occurs.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring
- Diploma in Social Sciences, counseling, or a related discipline supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a client-oriented position, preferable in an immigrant settlement service-related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Fluency in a Second language is an asset.

ISSofBC Value Proposition
- Expected Hiring Salary: $24.62-$27.91 per hour. Dependent on education, training, experience, and internal equity. Wage grids are reviewed annually.
