Job summary

BWXT in Canada is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to create and maintain project schedules, working closely with the Project Manager and leads across departments to assess progress and resolve issues.

The role requires scheduling experience in manufacturing, familiarity with Primavera/Planview, and proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for coordinating procurement and production activities.

Qualifications

• Three+ years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Experience with computerized database systems is required.
• Primavera and Planview are an asset and Microsoft Project and Excel are required.
• Understanding of materials management, production control, logistics and procurement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Biweekly (or more frequent) update of Primavera project schedule.
• Generate schedule changes to maintain visibility of work and predict delivery dates.
• Utilize Primavera to automate data collection, manipulation and distribution of information.
• Determine material due dates using project schedules and information from Sales and project team.
• Provide information to production control to issue due-dated work orders.
• Coordinate work order issuance and kiting to meet the schedule.
• Predict manpower requirements by job classification and identify capacity constraints.
• Verify critical material deliveries with the project procurement lead.
• Daily check of floor status of deliveries for proactive action.
• Attend weekly Production and Loading Meetings and communicate issues and dates to the Customer.
• Run/review MRP and finite schedule to generate plant schedule and vendor releases.
• Communicate scheduling or cost forecasting shortfalls to Project Manager.
