Job summary

Metrie in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a reliable production associate for our interior millwork operations. You will follow documented procedures, operate power tools, monitor product quality, and keep a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Use proper tools to meet job requirements.
  • Ensure quality products and reduce scrap.
  • Monitor machine operations for quality and consistency.
  • Inspect finished products to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain production documents and report discrepancies.
  • Participate in training for new equipment or processes.
  • Communicate equipment performance and issues with supervisors.
  • Meet production timelines at or below standard cost.
  • Produce products to exact specifications.
  • Stack lifts with proper spacing and height.
  • Follow Safe Work Practices for machinery and equipment.
  • Promote teamwork and assist other areas during downtime.
  • Clean up area of dust and debris.
  • Measure products using metric and imperial systems; aware of conversions.
  • Work in environments with dust and paint.
  • Stand for long periods.

Available Shifts:
  1. Monday - Thursday 6:45 am to 5:15 pm
  2. Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm to 3:30 am
  3. Friday - Sunday, 6:30am to 7:00pm
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
  • Will require the ability to follow direct to minimal supervision in a positive team environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Have and use the proper tools to meet the specific job requirements.
  • Ensure quality products are being produced and continually reducing fall down material or scrap.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Inspect finished products to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Maintain accurate production documents and report and discrepancies.
  • Participate in training sessions for new equipment or processes.
  • Communicate with supervisors about equipment performance and issues.
  • Ensure production timelines are met at or below standard cost.
  • Producing products to exact specifications.
  • Stacking lifts with proper spacing and height requirements.
  • Read, understand and follow all Safe Work Practices and Procedures for machinery and equipment.
  • Promotion of teamwork within area and willingness to assist other areas that may be experiencing difficulties while your area is experiencing down time.
  • Cleaning up area of dust and debris.
  • Capable of measuring products according to both the metric and imperial systems. Familiar with conversion between the two systems
  • Able to work in an environment with dust and paint.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
What You'll Enjoy:
  • Rate: $20.00/hour to start, increasing to $22.50 after 3 months
  • Night Shift receives a $1.00 shift premium
  • Weekend Shift receives a 4 hour top up if the emaployee works their full schedule that week.
