Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Method Engineering Specialist to support Oakville operations. You will develop manufacturing methods, process documents, routing, and NC programming to drive safe, efficient manufacturing of aerospace components.

Responsibilities include analyzing engineering drawings, mentoring operators, and delivering data-driven reports. Onsite role at Oakville facility in Canada with a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or an Advanced Degree in a related field with relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures, and regulations.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and quality standards such as GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain manufacturing plans and routing in PLM/ERP systems (SAP).
  • Coordinate NC programming and technique sheets with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Train and mentor production operators on new or revised processes.
  • Provide technical support to production and lead RCCA initiatives and first article inspections.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, MRB, and operations to ensure manufacturability.

Collins Aerospace is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Method Engineering Specialist working to support operations. You are responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust manufacturing methods, processes, NC programming and various documentation to support the production of aerospace components.
This role ensures that manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with quality and regulatory standards.
Work Location: Onsite role at Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada

What You Will Do
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain Manufacturing Plans (MPS/APS), routing, rework schemes and supporting documentation in PLM/ERP systems. Manage the standard times, cost estimates, and planning parameters in the ERP. (SAP)
  • Coordinate, modify and create NC programming, and technique sheets both internal and with suppliers, ensuring approval and release of all required documents.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, models, and specifications to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards, modifying fixtures cutting tools, and other tooling designs to meet your manufacturing process.
  • Build with the technicians the standard work, critical lift plans to support the manufacturing plan and or process. Train and mentor production operators and technicians on new or revised processes.
  • Provide technical support to production, leading troubleshooting manufacturing issues including problem-solving, defect analysis, QN rework instructions, and leading RCCA initiatives. Work through first article inspections non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, MRB Engineering and operations to ensure manufacturability and alignment with engineering requirements.
  • Provide technical support to vendors, satellite sites, and cross-functional teams (Quality, MRB, Planning, Operations, Engineering)
  • Using CORE methodologies, you are responsible to deliver process improvements to reduce your PPM, cycle time, scrap, and rework. Prepare and deliver clear, data-driven reports and presentations to leadership to support decision-making.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing and proving manufacturing processes. Raise engineering change requests as required.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, specifications, internal quality & EH&S procedures and other customer/government regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications We Require
  • Typically requires: A University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in manufacturing environment, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience in reading, analyzing , and interpreting engineering drawings, general business, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Experience in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in CAD/CAM software (i.e NX preferred, CATIA, MasterCam, etc ),
  • Experience in GD&T and quality standards.
  • A successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Previous experience with C.I. tools and CORE methodologies with the ability to analyze and improve processes to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers is required
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with proven problem-solving ability

  • Experience in aerospace specifications and industry (AS9100, NADCAP).

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
