Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Manager, under the supervision of the Plant Manager, is a key player in the strategic management of our Farnham plant, overseeing the manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams. He focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs, while ensuring product compliance, managing equipment or environmental related risks, and identifying technological innovation needs to enhance Farnham plant performance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and optimize all manufacturing processes to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Lead the manufacturing engineering team in the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, technologies, and equipment to ensure efficient and innovative production.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting team-specific performance indicators, including overall equipment effectiveness, scrap rates, production costs per product, and mean time between failures.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to meet production, quality, and profitability objectives.
  • Manage production flows in collaboration with planning and production teams to ensure optimal utilization of our capacities.
  • Oversee maintenance operations to ensure availability and reliability of production equipment.
  • Maintain our building and premises in good and safe condition always, while proposing necessary improvements.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative, safe, and operationally excellent work environment.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce production costs while maintaining product and service quality.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with safety, health, and environmental protection standards.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operational activities.
  • Ensure, in partnership with quality assurance, product compliance with certifications and standards required by our clients.
  • Take direct charge of certain manufacturing processes and be able to fill in for manufacturing engineers on his team during vacation periods.
Qualifications
  • University degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer, or 3-5 years as an engineering manager in manufacturing.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production technologies, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Experience in strategic planning, budget management, and problem-solving.
  • Self-reliant with the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for their outcomes.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification (Green Belt) or equivalent experience in applying continuous improvement principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
  • Results-oriented and ability to set clear goals, evaluate performance, make data-driven decisions, and implement corrective measures as needed to achieve company objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and industrial standards.
  • Available for occasional international traveling.
