Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Liaison for a contract role in London, Ontario. The ideal candidate will support production processes, tackle issues, and possess a degree in engineering or a trades license with experience. Qualifications

Overview

Contract - Manufacturing Engineering Liaison (Assembly)

Key Job Elements
  • Provide support to shop floor colleagues and supervisors to ensure efficient production processes
  • Participate in Start of Shift meetings to provide updates on changes in work instruction or introduction of new work instructions; provide reminders on break in points for new material
  • Coordinate Discrepant Material Control and Material Review Board processes along with Deviations
  • Develop and report on audits, material reviews, deviations, material purges, rework packages and Interim Repair Authorizations
  • Provide Technical Document Control (TDC) support for both hard copy and electronic work instructions, as required
  • Support DMC process centers

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate timely problem resolution of all Manufacturing/PA issues
  • Collect data to support Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action performed by Manufacturing Engineering Development and Integration Leads
  • Support the production teams in the development and implementation of continuous improvement
  • Support initial start-up production processes (MVB/PLP/FPI)
  • Monitor process effectiveness and record issues in Maximo database
  • Support Production Readiness build process on complex builds to resolve potential issues prior to production schedule start
  • Support Second Shift Production operations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • University Degree or College diploma in Weld/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; or Skilled Trades License with 3+ years equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist for a heavy equipment manufacturer
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with welding processes, procedures and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of Team Center, Oracle and Maximo
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with shop floor employees in a unionized environment
