Job summary

Integra in Harrow, Ontario is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve production efficiency, quality and capacity. This hands-on role involves working on the plant floor with production staff to implement best practices and troubleshoot issues while pursuing continuous improvement for current and new product introductions.

You will develop and optimize processes, leverage Lean Six Sigma, analyze data, and ensure accurate assembly.

Qualifications

  • Capable of working under minimal supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of the production facility and current processes.
  • ExcellentCoordination skills to enable cooperation with technical staff, production staff and Management.
  • Effective problem-solving and reporting skills with recommendations to procure capital equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, techniques, capital equipment and workflow to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Identify best manufacturing practices using Lean Six Sigma to reduce variation and waste.
  • Investigate industry best practices and emerging technologies to develop roadmaps and priority initiatives.
  • Utilize data and compile reports to assess effectiveness of manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure the production team assembles products accurately as designed.
  • Participate in ECR process to ensure changes are documented prior to implementation.

The Opportunity

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in improving production efficiency, quality and capacity. This hands‑on role requires time on the manufacturing floor, working directly with production staff to implement best practices, troubleshooting issues, including continuous improvement related to current and new product introduction.

What you will do?
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing process, techniques, capital equipment and workflow to enhance productivity and quality
  • Work with production staff to identify best manufacturing practices, utilizing Lean Six Sigma (reducing variation and eliminating waste)
  • Investigate industry’s best practices and emerging technologies and enhance our manufacturing methods by developing a roadmap and priority initiatives to implement
  • Utilize data and compile reports to assess effectiveness of manufacturing procedure
  • Ensure the production team is assembling the product accurately as designed
  • Actively participates within the ECR process to ensure all changes are documented prior to implementation
  • May develop standard work and provide training of staff on new techniques or manufacturing improvements and overseeing installation of capital equipment
  • Assist in reducing the occurrence of manufacturing errors
  • Have a hands‑on approach combined with a strategic mindset
Required Qualifications
  • Capable of working under minimal supervision and prioritizes tasks to take the appropriate action
  • Thorough knowledge of the production facility and current processes
  • Excellent coordination skills to enable cooperation with technical staff, production staff and Management
  • Efficient problem‑solving skills
  • Effective communication and reporting skills to Management to evaluate risk and reward with developments including recommendations to procure capital equipment
  • Technical education – Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree
Salary Range
  • $70,000 to $95,000 per year.
