Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Support Technician to join our Bolton, Ontario team. The role involves polishing and deburring precision metal mold components, using air tools, and measuring parts with metrology or CMMs, with some CNC surfacing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or certified apprenticeship.
• 1-2 years manufacturing experience considered an asset.
• Ability to read and understand GD&T symbols, blueprint and CAD drawings considered an asset.
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience/knowledge with hand tools and power tools.
• Flexible with rotating shift work.
• Good communication skills.
• Lean experience: Flow/Pull, 5S or Continuous Improvement.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Polish and deburr precision metal mold components to achieve surface finishes within tolerance.
• Measure completed parts using manual metrology and/or CMMs.
• Edit and operate CNC surfacing equipment such as CNC Micro-Blast, Honing machines, laser engravers, CNC sanding machines when required.

Key Requirements

Manufacturing Support Technicians (Polishers) are expected to hand polish and deburr precision metal mold components to achieve the required surface finishes inside the correct tolerance. Most of the work will be with air-powered hand tools, attached to various metal working materials (stones and abrasives). Polishers must be able to then measure the completed parts using manual metrology and/or CMMs, to qualify the sizes on their parts in addition to visually inspecting alternative defects. In some polishing areas, there may also be a requirement to edit and operate CNC surfacing equipment such as CNC Micro-Blast, Honing machines, laser engravers, CNC sanding machines, etc.
