Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead complex freshwater and marine aquatic programs across Canada.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to project teams.
• Lead and oversee field programs from planning through execution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance.
• Manage deliverables, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
• Compile and analyze water/sediment/biological datasets.
• Interpret findings and develop practical recommendations for clients.
• Prepare technical reports, monitoring reports, and impact assessments.
• Support data management and QA processes.
• Collaborate with scientists to develop integrated environmental solutions.
• Maintain safety culture and participate in safety committee.
• Build client trust and support business development with technical service.
• Travel to project sites and remote locations; support field teams from Yellowknife.
• Assist Area Manager with office management.

Job description

• Lead complex freshwater and marine aquatic resource programs across Canada
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to project teams conducting field investigations and environmental studies
• Lead and oversee freshwater and/or marine field programs from planning through execution
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance
• Manage project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations
• Compile, manage, review, and analyze water quality, sediment quality, and biological datasets
• Interpret scientific findings and develop practical recommendations for clients and stakeholders
• Prepare, review, and deliver technical reports, including environmental monitoring reports, environmental permitting documentation, and impact assessments
• Support data management and quality assurance processes
• Collaborate with toxicologists, geochemists, hydrologists, fisheries biologists, wildlife biologists, and other specialists to develop integrated environmental solutions
• Maintain strict adherence to health and safety requirements and promote a culture of safety excellence, including participating in Occupational Health and Safety Committee
• Build trusted relationships with clients and regulatory stakeholders
• Support client relationships and contribute to business development activities through technical expertise and exceptional service
• Support business growth through technical excellence, collaboration, and client service
• Travel to project sites and remote locations as required
• Support multidisciplinary field teams deploying from Yellowknife to project sites

Requirements

• Required BSc in Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology or similar discipline
• 4+ years of experience organizing, managing, and executing field programs
• Boating experience and experience working in remote locations
