Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead cultural heritage projects in Vancouver or BC/YK locations. You will oversee field programs, artifact analysis, and reporting, acting as a professional liaison with clients and agencies.

The role requires a BC permit, 4+ years in archaeology, and strong communication/writing skills. Travel is expected, and a competitive compensation package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in archaeology and cultural heritage.
  • Current permit holder in British Columbia. Field Directors will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to lead field programs and complete research projects.
  • Strong communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Travel will be required.
  • Driver's License Required: valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.

What You'll Bring

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage archaeological field programs under applicable permits.
  • Conduct literature reviews, artifact analysis, and cataloguing.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and deliverables for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Represent ERM at meetings with provincial, territorial, and federal agencies.
  • Support growth of ERM's archaeology and cultural heritage practice through technical excellence and client engagement.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist position, the anticipated annual base pay is $90,700 –$110,000 ( CAD ) . Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
