Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Manager, Risk Management to join the Vendor Information Risk Management team. The role focuses on assessing information security controls, measuring effectiveness, and guiding IT risk and contract risk related to vendors.

It is an individual contributor position based in Toronto or Waterloo with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office). The role requires 5–7 years in IT work, IT auditing, a Bachelor's degree, and CISA certification; CRISC/CISSP preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct information security risk assessments of new and existing vendors (IT controls, AI governance, BCD/DR controls).
• Assist with risk control assessments of vendor information systems and functions.
• Provide expert understanding of technical concepts and solutions.
• Research and investigate new issues to maintain currency of expertise.
• Identify problems and execute solutions; perform contract reviews with Legal.
• Collaborate with vendors, partners and other teams; assist with metrics and reporting.
• Improve processes to add value and efficiencies; perform vendor site visits as needed.

Job description

As the Manager, Risk Management you will be part of the Vendor Information Risk Management team and conduct assessments on information security controls. In this role, you will measure the effectiveness of the security controls, identify control gaps, and provide business advice and guidance on the various IT risks and/or contract gaps associated with the supplier.

This is an individual contributor position based out of the Toronto, ON or Waterloo, ON office with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office).

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for Information Security risk assessments of new and existing vendors. Reviews include IT Controls, AI governance controls, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery controls, Subcontractor reviews.
• Assist with the establishment and completion of risk control assessments of vendor information systems and functions
• Provide and exhibit an expert understanding of specific technical concepts and solutions
• Research and investigate independently new issues and innovations to maintain currency of technical expertise
• Identify problems, propose then execute solutions
• Perform contract reviews working with Legal, as appropriate
• Collaborate with key vendors, partners and other teams
• Assist with metrics creation and reporting
• Improve current processes adding value and efficiencies
• Perform site visits of vendors as required – virtually.

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of IT work experience, including 2 to 3 years IT auditing or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• CISA is required
• CRISC or CISSP preferred but not required
• Excellent organization and planning abilities
• Understanding of IT controls, audit and risk management
• Ability to present to and work with all levels of management
• Ability to handle complex issues
• Proven ability to quickly and easily adapt to changes within the business and organization
• Able to explain and bring business specific context to key IRM principles

Salary range is expected to be between

$85,300.00 CAD - $135,300.00 CAD
