As a Strategic Solutions Manager within the Business Modernization team at Canada Life, you will play a critical role in leading Modernization Initiatives which will include leading Business Analysts in analyzing business needs, defining requirements, implementing and optimizing workflow solutions, intelligent document processing and overall automation frameworks for key business processes.

Working closely with AVP Optimization & Enablement, business stakeholders, technology teams and cross-functional partners, you will ensure modernization solutions consider all details of the associated business process(es) and that risks, business and technical impacts are proactively addressed with appropriate mitigation strategies in place. Overall, this role will provide focus on delivering expected business value and ensure the Customer and employees needs are met.

What You Will Do
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and initiative, and have highly developed analytical, communication, management, planning and facilitation skills
  • Be comfortable working in an ambiguous and evolving environment, proactively identifying opportunities and bringing structure to complex challenges.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Guide and support our Business and Technical Teams on assigned modernization initiatives
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend enhancements, optimizations, and new automation opportunities
  • Support governance, compliance, and audit requirements for automation opportunities
  • Lead Agile sessions (Grooming, Refinement, Retrospectives) and review and enhance user stories, review FIT & user acceptance testing, and consult on training & change management
  • Facilitate both remote and in-person working sessions with key stakeholders
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Lead Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts.
What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and stakeholder management
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, working with incomplete information to drive clarity and actionable next steps.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance or investments is an asset.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in agile environments
  • Understand Technology and Agile development & use agile delivery and process redesign best practices to effect change
  • Use project and program management skills including task breakdown, prioritization and planning, clarification of ownership, change management and pro-active risk management
  • With excellent communication and negotiation skills build consensus with the multiple stakeholders across technology and business areas as well as external stakeholders to execute on a common mission, vision and scope
  • Gain a strong understanding of the business and key stakeholders and work closely with end-users to deeply understand current process to implement process redesign
  • Identify and manage interdependencies within the project and create awareness and understanding around it
  • Challenge the status quo and find new solutions to drive out of the box ideas
  • Have a business centric mindset and solve complex problems
  • Take accountability to maintain focus and scope that will result in desired outcomes, including productivity improvements along with driving efficiencies, customer experience and employee experience improvements.

The base salary for this position is between $80,700 - $141,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
