South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service organization that provides primary healthcare, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention primarily to people of East Toronto. Our mission is to improve the lives of people that face barriers to physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. We do so by meaningfully engaging our clients and communities, ensuring equitable access to primary health care and delivering quality care through a range of evidence informed programs, services and approaches. As a leader in community health, our locally and internationally recognized community services include cutting-edge primary health services, health promotion, harm reduction, environmental health, community food center and population-based community programs for marginalized peoples. SRCHC is looking to hire a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead a number of special projects aimed at supporting SRCHC projects being led by the Board of Directors, including strategic planning and community engagement initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by supporting the agency in promoting operational and governance excellence.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of cross organizational projects aligned with SRCHC’s Board priorities and SRCHC’s operational accountability framework

  • Develop, monitor, track and report on multiple project plans deliverables and risk mitigation strategies

  • Develop and implement communication plans to inform and update staff, board members and other key stakeholders about projects

  • Lead SRCHC Board Work groups responsible for strategic planning and community engagement

  • Work with external consultants to manage strategic planning activities including an environmental scan, client, community and staff engagement, and once the plan is completed, supporting the development of an operational plan

  • Support Board and Leadership Team to design, plan and implement a series of community engagement activities related to SRCHC’s 50th Anniversary



  • All other duties as required

Master’s degree with experience in a related discipline (e.g. health administration/project planning, quality improvement)


Project Management certification considered an asset


Minimum 3 years progressive leadership experience managing complex health system projects ideally in community health or primary care settings


Knowledge and Skills


  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support project teams with capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities

  • Proven expertise in project management principles, methodologies and experience utilizing project planning techniques, tools and templates

  • Experience leading and supporting cross-organizational teams with an ability to earn the trust of key stakeholders, mobilize and motivate teams, set direction, build consensus, coach and resolve conflict

  • Ability to exercise a high degree of autonomy in planning and managing projects

  • Strong collaborative leadership

  • Detail and goal orientated with strong problem-solving, critical thinking and negotiating skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively to a diverse audience

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Respect for diversity, equity, anti-racism and accessibility with the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others

  • Strong interest in issues affecting people who are homeless, living with a mental illness or substance use, and complex health needs

  • Respect for client confidentiality

  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications

  • Previous CHC experience an asset


Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
