Job summary

ClearGov is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead the Platform Services group in our Calgary office. You will drive technical direction, mentor engineers, and actively contribute to architecture and delivery.

Responsibilities span architecture, API design, data models, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms, with a focus on reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure timely, high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, business administration, commerce or engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including demonstrated success leading engineering teams in a SaaS environment.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly in financial, reporting, or ERP systems.
• Experience designing and developing APIs and integration solutions.
• Knowledge of data import/export processes and integration patterns.
• Experience with background processing and event‑driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and production support practices.
• Experience building and supporting multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
• Knowledge of configurable data models and metadata‑driven architectures.
• Experience using AI‑assisted software development tools.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments and delivery practices.

• Support continuous improvement of team processes, incident response procedures, and release readiness.

Terms of Employment:

Full‑Time (FTE)

Location: Calgary Office – 1550 5 Street SW, Suite 300, Calgary, AB T2R 1K3

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Salary: $160,000 CAD per year or $76.92/hour
