We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to guide the development of our next‑generation CoCounsel product. In this role, you’ll empower a team of talented engineers, oversee the end‑to‑end creation of robust UI and backend systems, and influence strategic decisions that drive our product forward.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead & Inspire: Manage a high‑performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and growth.
  • Architect & Build: Oversee the design and implementation of UI and backend solutions using modern frameworks and technologies, stepping in to code when necessary.
  • Strategize & Collaborate: Work with cross‑functional teams—product managers, designers, and other leaders—to define product strategy, set technical direction, and deliver innovative features.
  • Drive Execution: Own the team roadmap and project lifecycle, ensuring that initiatives move from ideation to successful production launches.
  • Mentor & Develop: Coach junior engineers, support professional development, and cultivate an environment where everyone can excel.
  • Measure Impact: Define success metrics to track and evaluate project outcomes, using data‑driven insights to guide future decisions.
  • Shape Technology: Provide guidance on architecture, design, and best practices for front‑end and back‑end development.
  • Recruit & Grow: Play a pivotal role in hiring top engineering talent and expanding the team’s capabilities.
About You

You’re a fit for the role of Engineering Manager if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, with meaningful individual contributor work in the last 2–3 years and a proven track record leading the development of scalable, web‑based solutions.
  • Front‑end & Back‑end Mastery: Experience with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, or similar), TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
  • AI Familiarity: Comfortable with AI technologies, including GenAI concepts like prompt engineering, agentic system design, Model Context Protocol (MCP), retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and LLM orchestration frameworks.
  • Team Leadership: 2+ years of managing engineering teams, with success in coaching, mentoring, and nurturing talent.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: Ability to navigate ambiguity, make data‑driven decisions, and deliver impactful results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strategic Mindset: Adept at driving product innovation and ensuring that technical decisions align with broader business goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven success in recruiting, managing performance, and cultivating a positive team culture.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, including vector databases, model serving and deployment pipelines, and cost/latency optimization for LLM‑powered products.
What’s in it For You?
  • Hybrid Work Model: Flexible hybrid working environment (2–3 days a week in the office depending on the role) along with a seamless digital experience.
  • Flexibility & Work‑Life Balance: Policies designed to help manage personal and professional responsibilities, including work‑from‑anywhere for up to 8 weeks per year.
  • Career Development and Growth: Programs that foster continuous learning and skill development, coupled with resources for mental, physical, and financial wellbeing.
  • Industry Competitive Benefits: Flexible vacation, mental health days, Headspace app, retirement savings, tuition reimbursement, employee incentive programs, and other resources for wellbeing.
  • Culture and Values: Inclusive culture with a focus on customer obsession, rapid learning, and collaboration.
  • Social Impact: Two paid volunteer days off annually and opportunities to contribute to pro‑bono consulting projects and ESG initiatives.
  • Making a Real‑World Impact: Support for justice, truth, and transparency initiatives worldwide.
