We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to oversee daily (PM) operations and ensure exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, demonstrating leadership and management skills to foster a positive work environment. This role requires a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
- Manage staff through effective team management, including hiring, training, and supervising employees.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain high levels of customer service by addressing guest concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Utilize POS systems (including Micros POS) for cash handling and transaction processing.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and improve profitability.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and encourage teamwork.
- Foster a positive work culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of senior management experience as a department head in a luxury restaurant/hotel (Food & Beverage).
- Product knowledge of wines, liquors and related beverages.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations gracefully.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Micros POS preferred).
- Ability to conduct interviews and evaluate potential candidates effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Previous experience in hospitality or barista roles is a plus.
Location & Compensation
- Location: Vancouver, BC
- Work location: On site
- Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 per year
- Terms of employment: Full time

What you will be doing
- Motivate, lead, mentor and train the team.
- Strategize with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Directors on promotions, menus, special events, new products and service offerings.
- Develop and grow Alouette's positioning as a top dining choice in Vancouver and Canada.
- Ensure five-star standards and brand standards are maintained.
- Create unforgettable experiences for guests and staff.
- Manage revenue and expenses for Alouette (labor, productivity and budget guidelines).
Your experience and skills
