A leading international financial services company in Toronto is looking for a Manager, Private Markets Product to support the development of private market investment products. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in product development, particularly in private markets or alternatives, and will be responsible for leading product initiatives, conducting market research, and collaborating across teams. The Manager, Private Markets Product supports the development and management of the Private Markets investment product platform across asset classes, working closely with investment and distribution teams, and legal, tax, finance and operations partners. The scope of the role encompasses private asset products globally, across all institutional, retail, wealth and retirement channels covered by Manulife Wealth & Asset Management.
Lead product development initiatives, as assigned, for new funds and separate accounts investing in private assets, including structural design and implementation of fund platform/vehicle.
Competitive research to support product strategy, launch and strategic positioning for Private Markets products.
Business casing, product governance, and ongoing product refinement for Private Markets products.
From an investment product perspective, support the integration of inorganic growth initiatives into the Private Markets business.
Collaborating closely with alternatives distribution and product colleagues covering public markets, product management, and global product platforms in designing, structuring, and executing on hybrid, registered, semi-liquid, evergreen, mutual fund and other solutions for retail, wealth, and retirement channels.
Work closely with internal and external legal and tax advisers in structuring and negotiating documentation for funds and separate accounts, including:
Evaluation of legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, liquidity, currency risk, asset specific factors driven by clients’ needs, and
Implementation of optimal fund and account structure for the channel or region.
Work closely with the General Account Portfolio Management team to support, from a product perspective, the General Accounts managed by Private Markets within specific asset classes.
5+ years of experience in product development/investing/asset management.
3+ years of experience with private markets or other alternatives.
Degree in business, economics, law, or related discipline.
Excellent networking, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, results focused.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Credibility and proven ability to engage with stakeholders across the business at all levels.
Proven track record of managing projects within a large, highly complex, cross-functional environment.
Experience/comfort operating in a cross-border and matrix environment.

Referenced Salary Location: Toronto, Ontario
Working Arrangement: 混合式
Salary range is expected to be between $86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
