Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or as an engineering technologist.
• 7 years experience in a similar capacity.
• Certified PMP is an asset.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Knowledge of capital project development and execution.
• Excellent communication and ability to present to non-technical and executive audiences.
• Expert MS Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS-Projects.
• Proficiency in developing/maintaining Power BI dashboards and macro solutions.

Responsibilities

• Supports Directors in departmental management tasks and procedures.
• Manages the engineering database and automates reporting with Power BI.
• Manages the Sofina AFE process with cross-functional leaders to improve it.
• Provides PMO governance, oversight and reporting on large strategic projects.
• Develops engineering standard documents (RFQ/RFP, BOD, specs, equipment library).
• Manages AFE submission and approval for capital projects.
• Develops and maintains the Engineering Standards and Master Data SharePoint site.
• Coaches and trains on Sofina Project Management Standards.
• Maintains engineering reporting and tracking to senior leaders.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Engineering, Environment, Maintenance and Reliability; this role is accountable for the management of process, reporting, and systems within the Sofina engineering department. This role is also a support function for the SVP and will support on technical and functional requirements within Sofina, Canada.

The individual will also work closely with cross-function leaders, senior business leaders, stakeholders, and engineers to ensure effective development, priority setting, management, and reporting of the capital project portfolio. This individual will also be responsible for the development and continuous improvement the Sofina Engineering Standards and Systems for project management. This is a highly technical process and data driven role that requires advanced competencies in Office 365 and the management of engineering departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supports the Directors in departmental management tasks and procedures
2. Manages the engineering database and brings automation such as Power BI for reporting and analytics. reporting and automates engineering department reporting
3. Manages the Sofina AFE process and works with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to improve the process.
4. Works with the SVP, Engineering in providing PMO governance, oversight and reporting on large strategic projects

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or as an engineering technologist

4. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional project teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience on how capital projects are developed and executed.
6. Excellent communication skills and proven ability to develop reports and make presentations to both non-technical and executive audiences.
7. Expert skills in MS Office products including Excel, Power Point, Word, MS-Projects.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in developing, implementing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and automated macro solutions to support reporting, data analysis, and operational efficiency
9. Experience in engineering consulting an asset
