Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year

Work Hours: Mon – Thurs 7:00 am – 4:30 pm; Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Job Overview

All Railings Ltd. is a progressive metal and structural steel fabricator specializing in the high‑rise residential market. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee daily operations within our fabrication facility. The Plant Manager will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to specification, managing the shop floor team, coordinating workflow, allocating resources, enforcing quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Coordination
    • Schedule and prioritize fabrication jobs according to project deadlines and available resources.
    • Review fabrication drawings, material lists, and production requirements to plan workflow.
    • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and engineers to clarify specifications or resolve production issues.
    • Monitor progress daily and adjust plans to address delays or resource conflicts.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision
    • Lead, train, and mentor welders, fitters, machine operators, and helpers.
    • Assign work tasks and ensure clear communication of job expectations.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and support skill development and cross‑training.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and craftsmanship.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, finish, and conformance to drawings and tolerances.
    • Ensure adherence to welding procedures, codes, and customer specifications (e.g., CWB, AWS).
    • Implement and maintain shop quality control processes.
    • Report and resolve non‑conformance issues promptly.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Enforce health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA or local regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment.
  • Equipment and Facility Management
    • Oversee the maintenance and proper use of shop equipment such as welders, plasma tables, brakes, and cranes.
    • Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs.
    • Recommend capital investments or upgrades when needed.
  • Process and Continuous Improvement
    • Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
    • Standardize best practices for cutting, fitting, and welding.
    • Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Track key metrics (productivity, scrap, rework, downtime).
    • Provide daily or weekly reports to senior management.
    • Participate in planning meetings and contribute to strategic production decisions.
