Job Description

As Manager, Personal Lending (PL) Credit Strategy, you are primarily responsible for developing credit strategies using advanced analytics for PL products as well as improving profitability by recommending solutions that balance risk, reward, operational efficiency, and customer impact. You will work to support the business targets for growth, while ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place and the overall quality of the portfolio is maintained.

What is the opportunity?

As Manager, Personal Lending (PL) Credit Strategy, you are primarily responsible for developing credit strategies using advanced analytics for PL products as well as improving profitability by recommending solutions that balance risk, reward, operational efficiency, and customer impact. You will work to support the business targets for growth, while ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place and the overall quality of the portfolio is maintained.

What will you do?
  • Support the Senior Manager in designing credit strategies covering PL products, including proactive campaigns, account management and exposure management, ensuring adequacy of risk and return as well as regulatory and internal compliance through comprehensive data analysis and predictive financial and credit modeling.
  • Support the Senior Manager in bespoke risk deep dives to address concerns raised from the senior management teams, leveraging advanced data analytics and visualization.
  • Presenting results of your analysis and recommendations with stakeholders and senior management in Group Risk Management, Product teams, and Collections to understand and propose new strategies designed to help achieve business targets as well as obtain approval of credit strategies with concise rationale supported by comprehensive analysis and documentation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities, and drive initiatives that will enhance strategy and portfolio performance or improve existing processes.
  • Develop and manage performance monitoring and reporting for relevant strategies and customer segments, in order to enable actionable insight for key stakeholders, including Group Risk Management.
  • Support new strategy development with advanced analytics and data science.
  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Sales, Operations and Risk Management.
  • End-to-end project management, from idea conception, solution design, stakeholder buy-in to implementation and monitoring.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative field of study.
  • Expert critical thinker and problem-solver
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, SAS and Python and code management best practices
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and accurate work with the ability to multitask and managing priorities
  • Effective and conversant in both business and technical communications
Nice-to-have
  • Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of risk management, credit strategy, and analytics
  • Knowledge of Personal banking products
