Job Description

The Manager, Partnerships, Business Banking is responsible for supporting all partnerships related activities which contributes to the success of the Business Banking team, with a focus on the Healthcare & Professional segment. The overall success of the Manager, Partnerships, Business Banking in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

In this role, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage the partnerships and ensure initiatives / events / marketing are executed efficiently. In addition, this role will monitor the value the partnerships bring to the business and continuously optimize the portfolio.

This is an 18 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manage national and regional partnerships for the Healthcare & Professional segment, with the goal of maximizing the benefits of these partnerships and driving greater brand awareness, customer engagement and business opportunities by:
    • Lead the planning and execution of partnership initiatives, in‑person events, and co‑marketing efforts in collaboration with external partners and internal teams, including Distribution Leaders, Advisors, Marketing, Analytics, Retail, and Wealth/MD
    • Oversee all pre‑ and post‑event logistics, including speaker coordination, material development, attendee management, event setup, and distribution of customer materials.
    • Capture, track, and distribute customer leads; enhance tracking processes to ensure visibility of end‑to‑end outcomes and improve ROI reporting
    • Support the negotiation, renewal, and execution of partner contracts, ensuring all deliverables are met within contractual terms
    • Manage the partnership budget, including processing payments for large‑scale and smaller agreements
  • Manage and optimize the Healthcare & Professional partnerships portfolio in alignment with Business Banking strategies and priorities:
    • Evaluate new partnership opportunities and assess existing ones based on market potential, penetration, and strategic fit
    • Monitor and analyze partnership performance across industries and regions; prepare insights and progress reports for leadership and key stakeholders
    • Continuously rebalance the partnership portfolio and mix of initiatives to align with evolving business goals and segment priorities
    • Maintain and refine competitive value propositions and partnership information for the segment
  • In partnership with Marketing, drive Healthcare & Professional brand awareness and customer engagement by deploying an effective marketing plan through various channels/mediums:
    • Collaborate with Marketing to elevate brand visibility and customer engagement through targeted campaigns and initiatives.
    • Provide strategic input on creative materials, including digital content, campaigns, and event collateral, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with segment value proposition
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Post‑secondary education in Business, Marketing, or relevant disciplines
  • 3‑5 years of experience with marketing, partnerships portfolio management, or relevant experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Healthcare & Professional segment, including products, policies, and servicing models (nice to have)
  • Networking and relationship building – Cultivate and maintain long‑term professional relationship with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders
  • Negotiation – Structuring mutually beneficial agreements and collaborations
  • Communication – Clear and concise written and verbal communication to various audiences
  • Strategic thinking – Identifying and aligning partnership opportunities with business goals
  • Account management – Managing partner expectations, deliverables, and ongoing engagements
  • Project Management – Coordinating logistics, timelines, and resources from planning through execution
  • Budgeting & Financial management – Creating and managing budgets, securing cost‑effective vendors, and tracking expenses
  • Vendor & supplier coordination – Negotiating with venues and other service providers
  • Operations & logistics – Managing event timelines, staffing, setup, and troubleshooting
  • Risk management – Anticipating issues, preparing contingency plans, and ensuring compliance with Bank policies and standards
  • Data Analysis – Measuring ROI from partnerships and events; strong Excel skills
  • Reporting & presentation – Creating reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders; strong PowerPoint skills
  • Organization & Attention to Detail – Managing multiple moving parts simultaneously
  • Adaptability – Staying calm and resourceful when plans change
  • Team Collaboration – Working cross‑functionally with marketing, product, and distribution teams
  • Time management – Prioritizing tasks under tight deadlines
Working Conditions
  • Work in a standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours are a common occurrence. Moderate travel domestically.
