Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Manager, Operational Excellence – Parts & Services in Lively, Ontario. You will own and continuously improve the end-to-end Parts & Services processes across Canada, govern the QMS per ISO 9001, and lead audits to ensure compliance.

You will act as the Canadian business owner for Maximo and coordinate enhancements, user training, and adoption. You’ll partner with global teams on ERP/SAP initiatives and drive performance via KPIs and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in a service/aftermarket/parts environment or similar operational role.
  • Experience leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, EAM/CMMS, or CRM.

Currently, we have an opening for a Manager, Operational Excellence - Parts & Services. The Manager, Operational Excellence is responsible for owning, documenting, governing, and continuously improving end-to-end business processes across Sales Area Canada. This role serves as the business owner for the enterprise systems supporting Parts & Services operations, while leading the Business Processes team to drive operational consistency, process compliance, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

What you will be doing
Process Ownership, Documentation & Quality Management

Own and continuously improve the Parts & Services process landscape for Canada, ensuring process documentation, work instructions, and procedures remain current and aligned with quality standards. Govern and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements and internal audit expectations. Lead process development and standardization initiatives across Parts & Services operations. Coordinate process audits, track progress, and ensure alignment with global Parts & Services standards.

Business Ownership - Service Platform (Maximo)

Act as the Canadian business owner for Maximo, ensuring effective use of service management processes and tools. Define, document, and maintain standardized operating practices and user guidance. Support system enhancements, change requests, user training, and adoption across the organization. Develop the capability of super users and end users through ongoing coaching and training.

Business Systems & Digital Enablement

Serve as a key business user for core operational systems, including Aurora, Maximo, CRM, and future SAP S/4HANA processes. Support system implementations, upgrades, testing activities, data quality initiatives, and process integration across platforms. Establish governance, standards, and best practices to drive operational consistency and efficiency.

Performance Management & Analytics

Define and monitor KPIs that measure process effectiveness and operational performance. Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that support business decision-making. Lead data quality initiatives and drive corrective actions based on performance insights.

Continuous Improvement & Change Management

Gather feedback from stakeholders and translate opportunities into process and system improvements. Build business cases for change and lead implementation efforts, including communication, training, and change management activities. Support operational readiness for new contracts, sites, equipment, and strategic initiatives. Maintain close connection with field and workshop operations to ensure processes reflect operational realities.

Leadership & Capability Development

Lead, coach, and develop the Business Processes team, including performance management, development planning, and workload prioritization. Foster process excellence and system capability throughout the organization through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Stakeholder Management

Act as the key link between the Canadian business and global process and system teams. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive alignment on business process decisions. Build and maintain strong networks across Sales Areas and global operational excellence communities.

What you will bring along
  • 5-10 years of experience in a service, aftermarket, parts distribution, heavy equipment, mining, or related operational environment.
  • Lead business process improvement and operational excellence initiatives that drive standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze, map, and optimize end-to-end business processes to identify gaps and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Act as a business super user or subject matter expert for enterprise systems such as ERP, EAM/CMMS, CRM, or similar platforms.
  • Leverage data and performance metrics to identify root causes, support decision-making, and drive operational improvements.
  • Develop and interpret reports, dashboards, and analytics using Excel, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Support organizational change by guiding teams through new processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Collaborate effectively across local, regional, and global teams within a matrix environment.
  • Influence and build alignment with stakeholders at all levels, regardless of reporting relationships.
  • Coach and develop team members while fostering accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain clear process documentation, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with quality standards.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Communicate effectively with audiences ranging from frontline employees and technicians to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Hold experience leading people and developing teams (asset).
  • Possess experience with IBM Maximo or a comparable Enterprise Asset Management platform (asset).
  • Bring experience with SAP S/4HANA or another major ERP system, particularly in implementation or transformation projects (asset).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards, including internal auditing practices (asset).
  • Bring experience within the mining, industrial, or heavy equipment sectors (asset).
  • Hold a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate strong English communication skills; French is strongly preferred.
  • Hold a valid driver's licence and meet customer site access requirements.
  • Be willing to travel regularly within Canada and occasionally internationally to support operational excellence initiatives and global programs.
