Join us as our new term Manager of Sponsorship & Advancement!

The Manager of Sponsorship and Advancement is an independent and proactive role, crucial for planning, implementing, developing, and evaluating the Varsity Sport’s inbound and outbound sponsorship programs. As a self-starter with significant influence, this position ensures that all sponsorship assets and activities are appropriately valued, coordinated, and aligned with varsity sport and university policies, and revenue goals.

As a member of the Faculty of Kinesiology team who is dedicated to, and resides within, Kinesiology & Health Studies (KHS) & Varsity Sport, the primary function of this position is to implement the University’s advancement strategies (i.e. Advancement includes development, sponsorship, alumni, community engagement and associated communications) within the assigned faculty and facilitate the ongoing development of a culture of philanthropy at and for the University of Regina, the Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies, and Varsity Sport. This is accomplished by coordinating the strategic priorities of KHS/VS with the support of the University Advancement team. This position works collaboratively with the Development Officer assigned to KHS, the Director of Varsity Sport, KHS Dean, and the Faculty members and their student organizations and the University’s Advancement team to cultivate meaningful long term relationships with donors, prospective donors, sponsors, alumni, current students, friends and other stakeholders of the assigned faculty and the University overall, to build strong alumni engagement and maximize success of the University’s overall fundraising and sponsorship objectives and initiatives with a focus on the priorities and needs of KHS. This position is responsible for achieving specific fundraising and sponsorship targets and alumni engagement objectives.

This role requires a proactive approach to solicit sponsors for varsity sports-hosted events and programs. Responsibilities include actively pursuing sponsor prospects, preparing and presenting sponsorship packages, and negotiating to secure financial targets.
