CLIC is seeking a Manager, New Business Administration to lead the unit operations and budget, guiding staff across multiple distribution channels and ensuring an efficient new business lifecycle aligned with industry standards.

The role requires post-secondary education and 5-7 years in organizational effectiveness and client service/insurance. You will recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team while driving continuous improvement and policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in organizational effectiveness and management within the client service environment/insurance industry.
  • Knowledge and credibility in administrative processing and best practices.
  • Experience in leading a team and managing day-to-day activities.
  • Proven track record of supervising, leading, coaching, and developing a team of service-focused employees.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains critical relationships within multiple distribution channels such as advisors, credit unions, employers, TPAs, MGA’s and Edge Benefits.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Recommends system enhancements to improve productivity and quality of work.
  • Recruits and selects staff, conducts workforce planning, and interviews.
  • Coaches staff, develops bench strength, and manages performance through programs like ELEVATE.
  • Plans unit strategy, priorities, and high-level operational efficiencies.

The Manager, New Business Administration manages the unit operations and budget and provides leadership and guidance to staff. This position plays a key role in establishing and maintaining critical relationships within multiple distribution channels. The role provides expertise and advice on new policies related to a wide variety of products and is key in ensuring the new business lifecycle is efficient and aligned with industry standards.

How you will create impact:
  • Establishes and maintains critical relationships within multiple distribution channels such as advisors, credit unions, employers, TPAs, MGA’s and Edge Benefits supporting a wide variety of clients & members
  • Participates in the development and implementation of best practices
  • Recommends enhancement to systems to improve productivity and quality of work
  • Recruits and selects staff members by conducting workforce and succession planning, developing role descriptions, and posting and interviewing
  • Facilitates employee development through orienting new employees, assessing and addressing training needs, enhancing development to build bench strength for the unit, and coaching on career management
  • Manages performance through the ELEVATE program, including the planning, assessing, and review phases and ensuring understanding of job and performance expectations, taking steps to remove barriers to success, facilitating empowerment, encouraging accountability and providing appropriate rewards and recognition
  • Participates in planning activities such as providing input into strategic plans, developing unit plans, identifying priorities and scope of activities for unit operations, designing/modifying work structures to meet business needs, and researching and planning high-level operational efficiencies
  • Ensures appropriate policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are in place for area of responsibility, and monitors compliance with corporate policies
  • Monitors workflow, allocating resources and auditing completion and quality, identifying and implementing opportunities for process efficiencies (i.e. continuous improvement) and filling in for staff on unit tasks, when necessary
  • Resolves escalated issues and makes informed decisions, providing guidance to others to enable them to handle in future

Expected salary range $91,058 - $141,058+

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
