Job summary

MNP is seeking a Manager to lead the National Tax Services Group in Canada. You will work internally to support tax service delivery, develop training programs and materials, and communicate tax matters across the firm.

The role requires CPA designation and 4–5 years of tax practice experience in a public accounting firm, with strong leadership and mentoring abilities. Bilingual English/French is a plus.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Completion of level 1 and 2 of the In-Depth Tax Program.
• 4–5 years of relevant tax practice experience in a public accounting firm.
• Experience with private company and owner-manager taxation is an asset.
• Strong English written and verbal communication; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firm standards, processes and tools for tax service delivery.
• Manage and maintain tax templates per latest tax updates.
• Create internal training materials and practice aids for standards implementation.
• Coordinate firm-wide tax learning and development events.
• Research local tax legislation and draft internal/external publications.
• Provide tax research and support to professionals across the firm.
• Contribute to internal tax compliance and planning projects.
• Coach and mentor team members to support development and performance.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll work internally to support the delivery of tax services, the development and coordination of key training programs and materials and the communication of tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firm standards, processes and tools to support the delivery of tax services to our clients
• Manage and maintain tax templates in accordance with the latest tax updates
• Develop internal training materials and practice aids to support the implementation of firm standards
• Facilitate and assist with firm-wide learning and development events as required
• Research and keep up to date with the latest changes in local tax legislation; draft internal and external tax publications
• Issue tax technical research and information/support to professionals throughout the firm
• Prepare and participate in internal tax compliance and planning projects
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews

Skills And Experience

• CPA designation
• Completion of level 1 and 2 of the In-Depth Tax Program
• Written and verbal English language skills, with French considered an asset
• 4 to 5 years of relevant tax practice experience in a public accounting firm
• Experience preparing and reviewing domestic tax compliance and implementing tax reorganizations
• Experience with private companies and owner-manager taxation is considered an asset
• Solid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
