Job summary

MNP LLP in Calgary is seeking a Manager to lead the National Tax Services Group, delivering tax services, developing training programs, and coordinating materials for client engagements.

The role emphasizes mentoring, performance coaching, and staying current with tax changes, with bilingual English/French collaboration across Canada.

Qualifications

• Completion of level 1 and 2 of the In-Depth Tax Program.
• Written and verbal French and English language skills, due to frequent collaboration with English-speaking teams across Canada.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant tax practice experience in a public accounting firm.
• Experience preparing and reviewing domestic tax compliance and implementing tax reorganizations.
• Experience with private companies and owner-manager taxation is considered an asset.
• Solid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firm standards, processes and tools to support the delivery of tax services to our clients
• Manage and maintain tax templates in accordance with the latest tax updates
• Develop internal training materials and practice aids to support the implementation of firm standards
• Facilitate and assist with firm-wide learning and development events as required
• Research and keep up to date with the latest changes in local tax legislation; draft internal and external tax publications
• Issue tax technical research and information/support to professionals throughout the firm
• Prepare and participate in internal tax compliance and planning projects
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews

• Solid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
